George, a train guard, will lose his job if he fails to keep to the timetable. He is also under pressure from his estranged wife, who is threatening to withhold access to their child. Safe in the guards’ compartment George witnesses, via CCTV camera, a vicious confrontation that spirals into violence. He is then faced with a dilemma: should he ignore the incident and keep the train running to schedule, or should he ignore his targets and intervene?
‘Compartment’ is a short film made as a co-production between Polish film company Cinepol and UK production companies, Junction Films and First Born Films. The film was shot with an English cast and Polish crew on 35mm film in Wroclaw, Poland. Pre-production and post-production took place in the UK.
